Broward County AT&T Pioneers Honor Firefighters

When it came to serving, nothing gave former AT&T Pioneer Ron Czaplicki more joy than volunteering as a firefighter at Station 33 in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Ron liked being on the frontlines and making a difference.

Unfortunately, Ron passed away two years ago from heart disease. To honor his memory and support those on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, his fellow Broward County AT&T Pioneers treated firefighters at Station 33 with Chick-fil-A platters, cookies, lemonade and iced tea.

“We know Ron would love what we’re doing to support our frontline heroes during this unprecedented time, especially those at the fire station where he once proudly served,” said Pat Caruso, a long-time member of the Broward Council of the AT&T Pioneers.

The Pioneers also stocked Station 33’s food lockers with snacks, like popcorn and oatmeal.
