headquarters updates

Pioneers Headquarters staff share information and updates by attending monthly chapter leadership calls for each of our Pioneers groups.  Headquarters Updates captures information shared so that unit leadership can in turn share this information among their local chapters, clubs and councils.

Marketing

Help us build the Pioneers photo library.  Pioneers HQ welcomes photos from the field of Pioneers in action to be used in HQ produced publications, marketing materials and on our website.  Photos should be submitted electronically.  Pioneers Headquarters requires signed signed photo releases for all non-Pioneers individuals in photos used for Pioneers purposes as well as recommends securing signed photo releases for Pioneers in photos used for Pioneers purposes.  Photo release forms are available on in the Communications Resources section under Press Room on our website.  Photos can be emailed to kmazzullo@pioneersvolunteer.org.

When posting Pioneers photos for your sponsor company’s use (i.e., company intranet, publications, etc.) you need to check with your Pioneers group manager, as your sponsor company may have its own policies/requirements around photo releases.  Please also keep in mind that once a photo is posted anywhere on the internet you relinquish all rights to your image and it may be downloaded, shared or used without your permission.

Website

These monthly Headquarters Updates are now available in summary each month on our website under Member Center, Volunteer Leadership Resources, Pioneers Units Operations.

Additionally, there is a new page in this same section entitled Did You Know?

Each month, Did You Know? addresses best practices and information relevant to Pioneers’ unit leadership.  The topics come from frequently asked questions from the field received at Pioneers headquarters.  The goal is to share facts, strategies and information that helps strengthen each unit’s ability to effect immediate, tangible change in our local communities as part of our network of volunteers.  This month financial standards for public charities are addressed.

Power Up to Read (PUTR) is a quick and easy way to introduce Pioneering to a colleague, family member, or friend who’d be willing to read a book aloud. It’s a great first-time project for newer volunteers. Co-branded books cost just $3.00 and can be purchased through Pioneers Essentials. (There’s plenty of wearable Pioneers gear available, too!)

You can donate PUTR books to community shelters, school or public libraries, children’s wards in hospitals, and after-school programs … or use them as stocking stuffers. The more creative we are at promoting PUTR and getting the brand recognized, the more we will encourage its use, influence positive behaviors, and best of all, reach even more children!
