Pioneers Headquarters staff share information and updates by attending monthly chapter leadership calls for each of our Pioneers groups. Headquarters Updates captures information shared so that unit leadership can in turn share this information among their local chapters, clubs and councils.

Centennial
Centennial Rewards and Recognition Program
Learn about how you can earn Centennial Rewards and Recognition now through a new program developed in conjunction with the Pioneers’ upcoming 100 year anniversary. Details available on the Pioneers Headquarters website and in the Winter 2010 issue of the PioneersPress.
Community Service Grants Program
The purpose of this program is to take the volunteer hours and financial resources, along with company external affairs folks, to local government to develop a community service project together.

Volunteer Week
An email recognizing Pioneers during annual Volunteer Week (April 19-25) was sent to Pioneers that have registered their email addresses with Pioneers Headquarters. Members can register an email address if they wish to receive future emails like this. There is additionally a supporting story on the website front page.

Answer the Call Campaign
Campaign kits should have been received in-home on or around April 10th. Just a reminder that kits are due May 14th for those participating in this year’s program.

Volunteering
How did your Pioneers unit participate in Volunteer Week, Take our Daughters/Sons to Work Day, Earth Day, Global Youth Services Day or Join Hands Day? Send a brief (1/2 page) overview to Kari Biesendorfer by Thursday, May 27th for possible recognition in the June P4.
Awards
The 2010-2011 Awards Manual has been reviewed by the International Program Committee, Group Managers and the Awards Committee. The final manual will be available online before the 1st of May.
Scholarships
The Pioneers Scholarship application deadline was February 28th. Applications are being processed and sent to Scholarship America for judging. Winners will be announced to Group VP’s April 30th.
Beep Baseball World Series
The 2010 Beep Baseball World Series will be held in Rochester, MN August 4 – 8th. Pioneers Units or individuals may “Adopt-A-Ball” at $50 each to help support the Series.
Beep Baseballs are manufactured by Qwest Pioneers. This group is currently located in Denver, CO. 200-300 baseballs are necessary for the World Series each year depending on the final number of teams attending.
After the World Series you can have the ball returned to you as a keepsake. Please fill out the attached form and submit it to the Rochester Amateur Sports Commission.
