Backpacks for Urban Peak
At Pioneers, everyone believes in the value of volunteering – including the staff and board of directors! That’s why during a recent board meeting, the board of directors and staff of Pioneers took part in a volunteer activity to support Urban Peak.
Urban Peak is the only non-profit organization in Denver that provides full services for youth experiencing homelessness. For almost thirty years, Urban Peak has worked in the Denver community offering housing, case management and counseling, education services, and job training. Their goal to help youths become self-sufficient and exit life on the streets.
During this event, Pioneers staff and board members bought and filled over 100 backpacks with hygiene supplies and snacks. These backpacks will be given to local youths in need to help them meet basic needs.
Through this project, Pioneers staff and board members were able to make a tangible difference in the Denver community – and they were also able to support an organization that is truly answering the call of those in need.
